Class Overview
Herbalist, Shaman, Medicine Maker; these are only a few ways to reference an individual with a knowledge of how to properly identify, prepare and preserve plants, trees and fungi.
Our ancestors lived and survived off the land by familiarizing themselves about the plants and trees they were surrounded by. They also knew how to make use of them and how to preserve them. This knowledge was passed down, teacher to student.
In this class, we will be looking at what plants and trees are available in our region during the summer season. We will also discuss how to prepare and preserve them for the cold months ahead.
We believe every home should have an herbalist. We also believe everyone can benefit from the knowledge of what plants and trees are around them.
This could be your first step or even your tenth step. We are confident we have something enjoyable and educational for your experience level.

Your Instructor
Philip Winter
Philip always knew that we had what we needed around us to be healthy. He began his pursuit of health through plant medicine about 10 years ago and it has grown into his passion to help others. He is an apothecarist and mushroom forager and cultivator. He also makes some pretty awesome fermentations.
